Summer Camp for High Schoolers

Summer Camp - ACT Preparation

Camp Instructor: Ms. Michelle Gruender

Camp Dates: June 18-29, 2018

Location: TFS Learning Center

I have been tutoring ACT prep for 12 years, my first two years teaching Sylvan’s ACT review course. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Math with a minor in Psychology from Michigan State University. I have a passion for helping students raise their ACT scores to achieve the best financial package they can at their school of choice.

After taking this course, the average student scoring in the high teens or low 20s experiences a 5-point composite score increase. For some, this increase allows them to attend the college of their choice; for others, it gets them into the scholarship range for their school or increases their annual scholarship amount.

We will meet 1-3:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The cost of the course is $750. The cost of The Official ACT Prep Guide (required) is $30 (please order through me two weeks in advance).

Each day we will review for and learn strategy tips for a section of the ACT (English, Math, Reading, and Science). We will then take an actual past test section. Then, we will analyze wrong answers and learn from our mistakes. This is the process for mastering the test with an experienced guide.

We will also work through an ACT Math guide that presents every type of math problem that can be on the ACT. Because Math and English are the most predictable sections of the test and the easiest sections to raise scores, we will spend two days on these two sections.

I look forward to helping students raise their ACT scores and master the ACT test!
