Our language arts program consists of several components:

• Reading - With the use of whole class, grade level,  and individual books, students are taught reading comprehension and reading strategies for fiction and non-fiction. 
• Writing - We use the 6 +1 writing program along with peer and teacher conferencing.
• Spelling - Everyday Spelling is used for 5th and 6th grade with the 4th grade using Words Their Way individualized lists or the Steck Vaughn spelling series.
• Grammar - All classes are taught grammar rules individually within their own writing and class mini-lessons as needed.
