Finals Week Guidelines

  • Students are required to stay in the final for 1 1/2 of the 2 hours.
  • Upper School students do not have to be on campus when they don't have a final. They may leave between finals and/or when they are done for the day.
  • Parents may pick up their child in between finals and/or right after a final.
  • ACTION ITEM  For students in 7th-12th grade who want to leave campus between finals and/or right after a final -- because they drive, because they want to walk to Head's Store, or because they want to ride with another student/adult -- parents must send in written permission to the office. Parents must email Mrs. Anselm (sanselm@tfssa.org) to let her know if their child has permission to leave -- this only applies to Finals Week. Note: If your 11th or 12th grader already has a "Leave Campus" form on file with the office for the school year, that is sufficient approval for Finals Week.
  • It is each student's responsibility to be back in time for the next final if he/she chooses to leave midday.
  • All students leaving/returning midday need to sign in and out at the office.
  • The school office cannot monitor with whom students actually leave campus; that will have to remain between the parent and the student.
  • There will be no morning meeting on Tuesday, May 24, Wednesday, May 25 or Thursday, May 26.

Finals Week: Middle School Supervised Study Hall

Any Middle School students in the building before/between finals will be in mandatory supervised study halls. See schedule above.

Finals Week: High School Supervised Study Hall

Before and between finals, High School students are free to hang out in the Keeping Room or back hallway. Or they can burn some steam outside or in the gym (under teacher supervision). ACTION ITEM  Parents, you can request that your 9th-12th grade student be in a supervised study hall before/between finals if you would like them to study with their teacher. Please email Mrs. Anselm (sanselm@tfssa.org) and we will be happy to provide that structure for your child.

Upper School Locker Clean-Out

Upper School students need to plan time to clean out their lockers during Finals Week. Be sure to bring garbage bags or boxes from home to carry all your stuff. Students must have their lockers inspected by Mrs. Loyd before they leave. Lockers must be completely empty of books, trash, food, and markings. Questions? Email Mrs. Loyd at dloyd@tfssas.org.

Upper School Textbook Return

Upper School students are responsible for returning all leased books to the office to avoid late or replacement fees. DO NOT turn in books to teachers. Students must check-in leased books with Mrs. Anselm or Mrs. Doyle by 12 pm on Friday, May 27 in order to avoid a $10 per-book late fee. Any leased books not returned by June 1st will be considered lost, and the replacement cost of the book will be charged to your account. Questions? Please email Mrs. Anselm at sanselm@tfssa.org.
