First Release: July 15, 2020   |   Updated August 12, 2020

These are the procedures that will be implemented that directly affect the 1-2-3 classroom:

  • 1-2-3 students are required to wear face masks (shields - only with permission), but teachers will allow for “mask breaks” when the risk is low (i.e. when students are outside, socially distanced, or alone).
  • The 1-2-3 classroom has its own sink and bathroom facilities. A touchless soap dispenser will be installed.
  • Lunch will be in the 1-2-3 classroom (or outside). We will still have Pizza Mondays; pizza will be delivered to the homeroom. Taco Tuesdays will be postponed until further notice.
  • Ms. Kruger will take advantage of outdoor classrooms whenever possible.
  • In general, we do not foresee 1-2-3 students to be interacting with anyone outside their cohort other than their Specials teachers.
  • Specials (Spanish, Music, Art) will meet in the homerooms as much as possible. Specials teachers will be required to wear face masks/shields and will “scrub in and out” when arriving/leaving.
  • PE will be held outdoors as much as possible; however, in inclement weather, our gym is acceptable, capacity-wise.
  • Arrival and dismissal for 1-2-3 will be at the Lower Level covered entrance. Parents, please drop your children off at the door. The children will ring the bell for entry.
  • Parents may come to the office if necessary, but in general are not allowed in the rest of the building. Please access the office by parking in the Upper Lot and using the Main Entrance.
  • Only a limited number of non-essential adults are allowed in the building. Face masks/shields are required for all visitors entering the building.
  • No large group events will be held, such as back-to-school events, etc.
  • Friday Morning Gatherings for Lower School will be postponed indefinitely.
  • Before Hours on Late-Start Thursdays and daily After Hours are by reservation only. To limit capacity, we urge parents only to use these services out of necessity.
  • We will have fall Parent-Teacher Conferences either in person with face masks/shields and/or via Zoom.
