Some guidelines regarding the finals schedule on Thursday and Friday, December 17 and 18:

  • Any Middle School students in the building before/between finals will be in mandatory supervised study halls. See schedule above.
  • High School Supervised Study Hall: Before and between finals, High School students are free to hang out in the Keeping Room, Dining Room, back hallway, or get some fresh air outside on campus. Parents, you can request that your 9th-12th grade student be in a supervised study hall before/between finals. Please notify , and we will be happy to provide that structure for your child.
  • Students are required to stay in the final for at least 1 1/2 of the 2 hours.
  • Upper School students do not have to be on campus when they don't have a final. They may leave between finals and/or when they are done for the day.
  • Parents may pick up their child in between finals and/or right after a final.
  • Middle and high schoolers will have their lunch period from 12:15-12:45 pm.
  • For students in 7th-10th grade who want to leave campus themselves (because they drive) or with another adult/student between finals and/or right after a final, parents must send in written permission to the office. (If your 11th/12th grade student does not currently have permission on file to leave campus, you can contact Mrs. Anselm to give finals-only permission.) Students may also walk to/from Head's Store down by Lake St. Albans. Parents, please email Mrs. Anselm at by Wednesday, December 16 to let her know if your child has permission to leave campus. We cannot accept phone calls and emails about these comings/goings on Thursday and Friday -- it creates too much chaos and opportunity for mistakes and misunderstandings.
  • It is each student's responsibility to be back in time for the next final if he/she chooses to leave midday.
  • All students leaving/returning midday need to sign in and out at the office.
  • The school office cannot monitor with whom students actually leave campus; that will have to remain between the parent and the student.
  • There will be no morning meetings on Thursday or Friday.
